ABOUT CULTURE CLUB

Two paths.

One truth.

Our collaboration did not begin in a boardroom. It began on the mat.

PART I

Origin Story

How Culture Club came to be.

HOW IT BEGAN

It began on the mat.

Ralph’s search for the last gap in his physical readiness led him to Muay Thai. Muay Thai led him to Willem. What began as a sporting exchange soon became something deeper — a conversation about what it truly means to live a life of alignment: physical, mental, and emotional. Out of that conversation, Culture Club was born.

RALPH’S PATH

From professional athlete and special operations.

Over a decade in Special Forces including five operational deployments. The lesson no textbook teaches: the difference between success and failure is rarely physical — it is mental, it is belief.

After leaving he built Thrive, believing knowledge was the missing link. He was wrong. What he kept seeing were brilliant people — entrepreneurs, leaders, builders — who knew exactly what to do and could not make themselves do it. Not in the domain that mattered most: their health. The promise they kept breaking to themselves.

“Why do people who are capable of extraordinary things keep failing to keep the promises they make to themselves?”

— RALPH’S DRIVING QUESTION

WILLEM’S PATH

From the ring and the classroom.

Professional fighter with over twenty bouts. Certified coach. Physical education teacher in demanding urban schools. In the ring he learned that progress is not forged in motivation — it is forged in structure.

Before Culture Club he founded PrimeCoaching, bringing combat sports discipline to entrepreneurs who had never considered themselves athletes. He saw how it unlocked confidence. But also saw the limit: training built toughness. It did not always build a sustainable system.

“How do I build an environment where the right behaviour becomes natural — where people no longer have to fight themselves to keep their promises?”

— WILLEM’S DRIVING QUESTION

THE COLLISION

One sees the mission.

The other builds the method.

Same question. Completely different directions. Completely different evidence. Ralph had seen it in war zones and boardrooms. Willem had seen it in gyms and classrooms. The gap between knowing and doing. The way environment shapes behaviour more powerfully than willpower. Together they designed an approach that unites system and soul.

“How do you help people become physically stronger, mentally sharper, and more resilient across all domains of life — without burning out or fragmenting themselves?”

— THEIR SHARED QUESTION

WHY WE DO THIS

We could not look away. And we could not do nothing.

Culture Club was not built because Ralph and Willem wanted to run a gym. They kept seeing the same thing: capable, committed, impressive people consistently failing at the most personal promise they could make — to take care of themselves.

The slow erosion of self-trust. The entrepreneur who built a company and lost their health. The parent who gave everything to their family and had nothing left for themselves.

They did not build Culture Club to be remarkable. They built it because they could no longer see the patterns and not tackle the root cause.

PART II

Philosophy

The thinking behind what we build.

LIFE AS A FIELD OF TENSION

Three domains. One life.

01

Self-Care

How you treat your body and mind — your foundation. Without it everything else eventually collapses.

02

Productivity

How you express yourself in the world. Most high performers live almost entirely here — and wonder why the other two are failing.

03

Connections

Your relationships in life. With yourself, the people you love, and the world around you.

These domains are not separate. They pull on each other constantly.

True success is holding all three in productive tension — simultaneously, consistently, over time.

HEALTH AS THE LEVER

The oxygen mask principle.

You have to save yourself before you can help the people around you.

We chose health and sport deliberately. Health is the one domain that directly generates the resources required for all others.

More importantly: sport is a mirror. It shows you who you are in real time, under real pressure, with real resistance. You cannot fake a kilometre. You cannot outsource a training session. Every session kept is a vote for the identity you are trying to build.

Health is not the destination. It is the training ground for the identity shift that changes everything else.

MINDSET AS FOUNDATION

The problem was never knowledge.

Every person who has ever walked through our door already knew what they needed to do. Knowledge is not the problem. Execution is. The gap between knowing and doing is not filled by more information — it is filled by a shift in belief about who you are and what you are capable of.

Every broken promise is a vote against the identity you are trying to build. Over time this compounds into what looks like laziness — but is in fact a deeply rational response to accumulated self-betrayal.

“Behaviour is the symptom.

Belief is the cause.”

We are not coaching fitness. We are coaching the person inside the process.

CULTURE AS OPERATING SYSTEM

You are already living inside cultures. You did not choose most of them.

Your work environment sets your standards. Your social circle sets your habits. Elite military units, great sports teams, and strong communities all produce exceptional people the same way: they build environments where high standards are not exceptional — they are ordinary.

Culture Club exists as a deliberate counter-environment. Against the burnout mentality. Against the always-on productivity cult. Inside our walls, keeping your commitments is not remarkable. It is the baseline.

When you are surrounded by people who keep their promises, the culture does half the coaching.

WHAT WE STAND FOR

VISION

A world where people no longer choose between achievement and wellbeing — because they have learned that one cannot exist without the other.

MISSION

To help every member become capable of keeping the promises they make to themselves — in health, in business, in relationships, across all domains of life.

PART III

The Team

The people behind the philosophy.

Built by those who live it.

We don’t coach from the outside. Every person in this team has done the work — on themselves first, then with others. We have lived inside the disciplines we teach. We have faced the same gaps, the same failures, the same moments of having to decide who we are when no one is watching.

We have also been wrong. We have changed our thinking when the evidence required it. We will continue to do so.
